I was so excited to get this book! Of all the new Star Wars books that have been released recently,

this series has been my favorite. Once again we are given insight into the Imperial training facility on Lothal through the eyes of Zare Leonis. Zare has continued to try to gather information about his missing sister Dhara with little results. His girlfriend Merie is also investigating through the Imperial information systems with a little more success. Her quest for truth however is putting Merie at risk for discovery the deeper she digs.

Zare’s quest is also complicated by the appearance of a transfer student at the Academy named Dev Morgan. Zare feels something is off about Dev. He easily excels at many of the tests and seems to be seeking out information as much as Zare. When Zare catches him trying to steal an important device from a commander he realizes he might have an ally.

I really loved this book! It was a quick read but a very satisfying one. Fry folds in the events from the Rebels TV show wonderfully. You don’t need to have seen the TV show to follow the narrative of this story but their are some really cool connections between the show and the books that fans will enjoy! Zare holds his own amongst the Rebels crew. It’s also entertaining to see the Ghost crew through another characters eyes.

A wonderful read! This book really builds upon the previous books story threads and makes me excited for book three in the series.
